6. Following through on a nagging suspicion he'd had since he was a child, Perry underwent DNA testing after his mother died in 2009 and found out that Emmitt Sr. wasn't his biological father. "From a child, I'd always known that this man despised me, and I could not figure it out for the longest," he said on Oprah's Master Class in 2017. "I could not figure out why he hated me so. And every action was about his hatred or his disdain for me."
