Police say a woman and her husband became romantically involved with another woman, but tensions grew once the other woman moved into their home so the wife plotted with two teenagers to kill them both.

Maryland police in Anne Arundel County said Ann Anastasi, 42, her 13-year-old daughter Sara and the girl's 18-year-old boyfriend Gabriel Ezekiel Struss have been charged with first-degree murder.

Anthony Anastasi Jr, 40, and Jacqueline Riggs, 25, were found dead in the Anastasi's home in Lothian on October 5 and their deaths were ruled to be homicides after an investigation.

The husband was found dead in the master bedroom of the family's 1,800-square-foot rental home and Riggs was found in the basement of the house, where she had been living, the Capital Gazette reported.

In addition to the adults and the girl, there were four other children living at the house.

Ann Anastasi said her husband had committed suicide and there was a handgun found next to him, although it did not match with a shell casing at the scene, according to charging documents.

Riggs was cut and stabbed to death.

Police said the Anastasis had been married for 18 years and Riggs moved into their basement over the summer after she became involved sexually with both husband and wife.

Things with the wife had fizzed, but authorities believe Anthony Anastasi and Riggs were still engaged in a sexual relationship when they were killed.

The investigation is 'very fluid and active,' but it's believed that mother and daughter hatched the murderous plot and then enlisted Struss to help carry it out.

Police discovered texts between all three suspects that discussed a handgun, transportation and how an individual would be concealed at the property.

When they were interviewed by police, Ann and Sara Anastasi gave 'inconsistent and misleading' statements to investigators.

The two older suspects are in police custody and the girl was sent to a juvenile detention facility.
